Questions people ask

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ring me.

Who actually does the work?

I do. I run every job and do the work myself, and my wife Casey works in the business with me, so nothing stalls when I'm tied up.

What's your background?

Six years agency-side as head of performance marketing: paid search, paid social and analytics, and leading the team doing it. My training is in research, with a Master of Clinical Epidemiology and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, which is why numbers get checked before they're reported.

So which one of you is Shannon?

Me, the bloke. Casey's my wife. If you've been writing to Ms Shannon White and Mr Casey White, you're in good company.

What if you're away or unwell?

Casey keeps things moving, and everything is written down: the register, the work log and the handover document. Nothing lives only in my head, and your domains and accounts are in your name, not mine.

How many clients do you take on?

A small number at a time, so each one gets me rather than a queue. If I'm full, I'll tell you when I can start.

Can you work alongside our marketing team or current agency?

Yes. I can take one workstream, like Google Ads or SEO, while your team or another provider keeps the rest. Your team sees every change on the work log.

Can you work within our brand guidelines and approvals?

Yes. Ads, copy and pages go through your approval process before they go live, and stay inside your brand guidelines and any manufacturer rules you work under.

How do you report?

To your rhythm. What changed, what it did and what's next, written for the person reading it, with the work log behind every line. If your team already has a reporting format, I'll fill it in rather than invent another.

Can you start with just the ads, or just a website?

Yes. Plenty of jobs start with one piece. If your site can take the traffic, the ads are the job. If it can't, I'll tell you why before quoting anything else. That's how Kaper's request for a landing page and some ads became a full website.

How fast can you move?

Fast, because there's no queue of departments. A new site usually gets a first look within days, and Kaper's went from enquiry to live in six. Bigger jobs land in stages, each one checked before the next starts.

Will I see things before they go live?

Yes. New sites, pages, campaigns and bulk changes go on a private preview first. Day-to-day ads changes go straight on the work log, where you can see every one.

What platforms do you work with?

Most of them: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress or custom. On an enterprise platform, I'll work through your developers. I'll only suggest moving if staying is costing you more.

How do you price?

By the job from an agreed estimate, and itemised on a work log. Ads management is never a percentage of your spend. The audit is a fixed fee, credited to your first job. No lock-in contracts.

Can you guarantee rankings?

No, and nobody honest can. What I can show you is what changed, when, and what it did to your traffic, enquiries and sales.

Will I own everything?

Yes. Your domains, ad accounts, content and data are yours. If something runs on my side, like a small automation in my cloud account or the working files for your job, it's handed over or moved to your accounts whenever you ask.

Do you only work around Newcastle?

No. I'm based in Newcastle and work with businesses all the way up to Townsville. Around Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter, I'm happy to come to you.

What happens to our data?

Your accounts stay in your name, and I work on access you grant and can take back at any time. Confidential files, like supplier price lists, stay out of shared folders. If your business has rules about which tools can touch its data, tell me at the start and the work runs to them.

Tell me what's going on

Ring me, or send a few lines through the form. If you need something built, I'll come back with a plan and a price, and for a new site that usually includes a first look at it. If you've got sites, ads and accounts spread across a few providers and nobody holding all of it, I'd start with an audit.
